A Right Charlie.

My previous blog entry was in May 2013 just after our dog Benji had died.  I do not wish to finish this blog on such a sad note so before starting my new blog on Wordpress, I am writing this post.

When we lost Benji, our other dog Millie became very sad.  For the whole of her twelve year life she had never been without the company of Benji.  We wondered if getting a puppy might help, this is where Charlie comes in.  Millie took to Charlie right from the start and except for some old age complaints is now enjoying life a lot more.

In July I received the results of the assessment of the first module, the Art of Photography.  I was awarded 64 out of 100 equal to a 2:1 pass.  I am very pleased with the mark but somewhat annoyed with myself.  I could have written more about the subjects I had photographed and done more research at the same time. Spending more time studying the work of other photographers would certainly have helped me.

November brought some more sad news, our Aunt Win, my favourite subject for portraits, passed away. Auntie Win has featured in this blog before; she was an excellent and patient subject for me and despite what some of the photographs convey, she had a very happy and smiley personality.  Getting her to give me "that look" was quite difficult.

Following several months of the usual problems that arise from the death of a close relative, clearing the house is one example.  We are now getting our heads above water.  I have now found time to think about continuing with my degree, so have just enrolled again with the OCA for the next module, "People and Place".

For this module I have set up a blog with Wordpress titled "Fortyyearsplus".  This being how long I've been happily married to my wife Kath.

A link to my blog is as follows:
